Ashghal Tanker GPS Tracking in Qatar

Teltonika FMC130 trackers supplied, configured and fitted in Qatar for tankers working to Ashghal's tracking requirement, installed by our own technicians.

Ashghal, Qatar's Public Works Authority, requires tankers that fill or discharge at its sewage treatment plants to carry a tracking device linked to the authority's own vehicle tracking system. The requirement has been in force since 2022, when Ashghal began accepting applications on 1 March and stopped admitting untracked tankers from 1 August.

Rapport Group supplies and installs the Teltonika FMC130 for tanker operators working under that requirement. We buy the hardware, configure it, fit it at your yard anywhere in Qatar, and support it afterwards with a local team on Qatar time. We currently track more than 15,000 vehicles for over 650 businesses in Qatar on our own platform.

The FMC130 is the 4G unit in the Teltonika range we already deploy. That matters now rather than later: Qatar's Communications Regulatory Authority required both operators to switch off 3G at the end of 2025, so a tracker specified today should be an LTE unit if it is expected to stay on the vehicle.

Every figure below is from Teltonika's own datasheet. For what Ashghal requires of your particular operation, including registration and the SIM, talk to Ashghal directly or to us and we will go through it with you.

What we do

FMC130 supply and installation for tanker fleets

01

Teltonika FMC130 — the unit

LTE Cat 1 with 2G fallback, GPS/GLONASS/Galileo/BeiDou/QZSS, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, 65 x 56.6 x 20.6 mm, 55 g, 10-30 V, IP41, 170 mAh backup battery. Three digital inputs, three outputs, two analogue and 1-Wire. For Qatar, specify the variant covering LTE bands B1/B3/B7/B8/B20/B28A.

02

Built for a tanker, not a car

A CAN adapter input for engine and fuel data, analogue inputs for a calibrated tank-level probe where the vehicle will not report fuel itself, and 1-Wire for iButton or RFID driver identification. The spare digital inputs take a PTO or pump sensor so a discharge shows as an event rather than a guess.

03

Fitted by our own technicians

We fit the units ourselves anywhere in Qatar and plan the work around your operation rather than taking the fleet off the road at once. Units are configured before they reach your yard, so the visit is a fitting rather than a commissioning exercise.

04

Running on Trackntraces as well

Ashghal's requirement covers what Ashghal needs to see. Operators who also want their own visibility run the same fitted units on our Trackntraces platform for route history, geofences, driver behaviour and fuel reporting, without a second device on the vehicle.

05

Supported locally

Teltonika hardware carries the manufacturer's warranty, and because we fit and support the units ourselves a replacement and the re-fit are handled by the same team rather than passed between a supplier and an installer.

FAQ

Ashghal tanker tracking — common questions

Ashghal, Qatar's Public Works Authority, requires tankers that fill or discharge at its sewage treatment plants to carry a GPS tracking device linked to the authority's own vehicle tracking system. Ashghal began accepting applications on 1 March 2022 and stopped admitting untracked tankers from 1 August 2022.
Ashghal's 2022 announcement applied to tankers, owned by companies or individuals, that fill or discharge at treatment plants affiliated to the authority. If your tankers enter an Ashghal site, treat them as in scope and confirm the current position with Ashghal before you buy anything.
Qatar's Communications Regulatory Authority required both operators to switch off 3G at the end of 2025 to free spectrum for 4G and 5G. A tanker tracker stays on the vehicle for years, so specifying an LTE unit now avoids refitting the fleet later. The FMC130 is LTE Cat 1 with 2G fallback.
For the Ashghal system, Ashghal's own announcement said owners collect a SIM card for each tanker from the authority and submit the vehicle's details so the device can be linked to their tracking system. Confirm the current process with Ashghal. Where you also want the vehicle on our own platform, we handle that connectivity.
That is the sensible aim, and it is what we would scope with you rather than assume. Tell us what Ashghal has asked your operation for and we will tell you plainly what one fitted unit can and cannot cover before anything is ordered.
It depends on the size of the fleet and how many tankers you can release at a time. Send us the vehicle list and where they are based and we will come back with a schedule that keeps the operation running.
Every fleet is priced individually, but the structure does not change: the tracker is bought outright, the installation is priced with it, and the platform is a per-vehicle subscription if you also want your own visibility. Send us the fleet size and vehicle types and we will come back with a per-vehicle number.
