What GPS vehicle tracking costs in Qatar: hardware bought outright, installation, and a per-vehicle monthly subscription — with worked examples at 10, 50 and 200 vehicles.
Every fleet is quoted individually, because a 12-vehicle delivery business and a 200-truck contractor under an IVMS clause are not buying the same thing. But the structure never changes, and neither does the planning figure: budget about QAR 1,200 per vehicle per year — roughly QAR 100 a month — for hardware and platform together on a light vehicle with a standard tracker.
That figure is the one the ROI calculator on our home page uses, and it is deliberately a whole-programme number rather than a headline subscription with the hardware, the fitting and the support added afterwards. It is what most businesses in Qatar should put in a budget before they have spoken to anyone.
It is not the cheapest number in the market, and it is not meant to be. It covers Teltonika hardware bought outright rather than the cheapest available unit, installation by our own technicians rather than a subcontractor, a platform we build and run ourselves, and a local team on Qatar time available 24/7. Where a cheaper quote exists, the difference is usually in one of those four lines — it is worth asking which.
Nothing is sold without a demo on your own vehicles first, so the price is agreed against a system you have already seen working on your fleet.
The structure
What you are actually paying for
Installation
Fitted by Rapport technicians at your premises anywhere in Qatar, quoted with the hardware. A standard tracker is a quick fit; CAN-bus work, fuel sensors and driver-ID readers take longer.
Platform subscription
Per vehicle, per month. Covers the Trackntraces platform, data storage, the live map, reports, alerts, the mobile app and support. Billed monthly or annually.
SIM and data
Each tracker needs a SIM. It can sit on your own corporate account or be supplied with the deployment — say which when you ask for the quote, because it changes the monthly figure.
What moves the price up
IVMS requirements (driver-ID readers, in-cab buzzers, spare inputs), fuel or temperature sensors, cameras, 4G hardware for long-life vehicles, and vehicles that need CAN-bus work rather than a standard fit.
What moves it down
Fleet size and contract length — per-vehicle platform pricing steps down with both. Mixed fleets are priced per vehicle, not per fleet, so plain tracking on the cars is not charged at the IVMS rate.

Worked examples
Using the QAR 1,200 per vehicle per year planning figure for a light vehicle with a standard tracker. These are budget shapes, not quotes — the real figure depends on the hardware each vehicle needs and the contract length.
10 vehicles — a small delivery or service fleet
Around QAR 12,000 a year all-in on the planning figure, or about QAR 1,000 a month across the fleet. At this size the whole programme is usually justified by fuel and idling alone within the first few months.
50 vehicles — a distributor or contractor
Around QAR 60,000 a year on the planning figure, before the volume step-down. This is the size at which scheduled reports start to matter more than the live map, because nobody watches 50 vehicles move.
200 vehicles — a transport operator, some under IVMS
Priced per vehicle rather than as one number: IVMS hardware and installation on the trucks and buses that need it, standard tracking on the rest, with the platform rate stepping down at this volume. The IVMS vehicles carry the higher hardware and fitting cost.
Adding to an existing fleet
New vehicles join at the same per-vehicle rate on the same account, and fuel or temperature monitoring can be added to trackers already fitted — usually a configuration change or a sensor rather than a new installation.

Mostly hardware and installation: a unit with CAN-bus reading and spare inputs, a driver-ID reader per vehicle, and sometimes an in-cab buzzer. Compliance reporting itself — scheduled driver scorecards, exception reports and exports — is part of the subscription, not an add-on.
Yes, and most fleets do. Start with the vehicles where the answer matters most, keep the same account, and add the rest once the reports have paid for the first batch.
