Why Qatar Businesses Track Their Fleets With One Vendor Instead of Three

Hardware from one company, software from another, installation from a third — it's a common way fleets end up managing GPS tracking in Qatar, and a common source of the problems they end up calling us about.

A fair number of the fleets that come to us in Qatar aren't buying GPS tracking for the first time — they're replacing a setup that technically works but has become a headache to actually manage, because it was assembled from three different vendors: a hardware supplier, a software platform licensed from somewhere else, and an installer subcontracted for the job. Each piece did its part. Nobody owned the whole thing.

What that split actually costs a fleet

When a fuel reading looks wrong, is it a hardware fault, a platform bug, or a bad install? With three vendors, that question can take days to even get routed to the right company, before anyone starts actually fixing it. When you need a new report format for a client's IVMS requirement, is that a software feature request to a company you've never spoken to, or something the local team can just build? When a technician needs to service a unit, does the person answering your call actually know your fleet, or are they reading your account off a screen for the first time?

What one vendor changes in practice

We install the Teltonika hardware, we built and run the TracknTrace platform it feeds, and the person who answers the phone can see your account and usually knows your fleet by name. That's not a claim about being better at any one piece — plenty of companies install trackers well, and plenty build good software. It's that when something crosses the line between hardware, install and software, which is where most real problems actually live, there's one team responsible for the whole thing instead of a call getting passed between three.

Where the numbers on this come from

Rapport Group has installed and supported fleet tracking in Qatar since 2018, and today the TracknTrace platform is running on more than 15,000 vehicles across over 650 businesses. Those are working relationships, not one-off installs — most of that base is fleets we installed years ago and who are still on the platform, adding vehicles as they grow rather than shopping around again. Our Google Business Profile carries more than 29 verified reviews at a 5.0 rating, and it's worth reading those directly on Google rather than taking any vendor's word for their own reputation, ours included — real reviews from real reviewers, checkable independently, are worth more than anything we could write here.

Whether this is the right fit for you

One vendor isn't automatically the right answer for every fleet — if you already have hardware you're happy with and just need a platform, or a platform you like and just need better installation, a full switch may be more disruption than it's worth. But if you're the fleet manager currently deciding who to call first when something goes wrong, and the honest answer is "I'm not sure," that's usually the sign a consolidated setup would save more time than it costs to switch. Tell us what you're running today and we'll give you a straight read on whether moving to one vendor is worth it for a fleet your size, not just a pitch to switch regardless.
